Celebrate PINK this October

This month is just not about celebrating the Gods, Goddesses and the souls(Halloween) but also us women! No I ain't kidding! October is the breast cancer awareness month. So you can wear pink any day you want, or everyday too!! :D
We have all heard about the "Wear pink to Work" campaign, right? Well, its basically just to encourage more women to be aware of breast cancer. The concept is simple - wearing pink helps spread more awareness as detecting the disease early is the best way to prevent it. In India, this year its being celebrated on the 18th of october. This post is to give you an offbeat idea on how to root for a cause and stay stylishly pink-y at work!
A cotton printed trouser paired with a solid coloured flowy top can never go wrong on any body shape or size! Prints and bright colours are both a good bet this fall, so get innovative and crazy!

Clutch - Splash
Rest of the outfit - Thrift, Bandra and Bangalore

Wear pink, keep it stylish!

Loose pants and Houndstooth

Hello!

Pants have been a rage since quite a few seasons and yes, its here to stay! Last season was a whirlpool of florals and military, geometric-prints and coloured pants. And undoubtedly, it has made its way to the 2013 spring summer fashion trend must-haves along with some of its cousins :D.
Without going into further details about which kind of pants are a hit this season (you can find it here), Il go straight to the one I vouched for. Owing to the extreme heat and grime, I chose to wear a pair of loosely fitted pants, which in India is famous as a Patiala. Yup, the very-heavily-flared-at-the-hips and traditional Punjabi ethnic wear!

I chose a plain black cotton Patiala to go with the shirt I am so very fond of. Its a very basic round neck (or bandhgala, whatever you might want to call it) houndstooth shirt. The loose fit makes it a sure shot winner for the sweaty summer.

silver nails and black and silver baroque earrings to add a feminine touch

I paired the look with my bright orange clutch from splash to add a pop of colour!

Share with us which pants will you be rocking this season!

Bloggers meet - Purplle.com and Soulflower

Hello!
A really really long time since I have posted anything!
Sincere apologies for being so inactive :P
Over this month, a lot happened.
I met some of the most pleasing and beautiful bloggers in Mumbai and elsewhere, and made some good blogger friends too.

My first blogger meet was the Samsung Party Bloggers. After that, it was the fabulous meet conducted by purplle.com and soulflower on 17th March '13, Inorbit Mall, Mumbai.

Purplle.com officially launched their very new and interesting concept, salon finder, at this meet. This feature allows you to search for nearby salons in your area, making it much more easier to choose where you would head to get pampered! Not just that, you also get to review your experience and give your own recommendations.

So its just not restaurants but also your beauty salons which are now just a click away with Purplle!

We entered Spaghetti kitchen, not to be welcomed by the smell of freshly baked bread and cheese, but the fresh aroma of all things natural! Yes! Soulflower products. Amazingly fresh and notoriously playful ;)

They have a hoard loads of products (check here) under the brand but what grabbed my attention were these tiny aromatherapy roll-ons fused with nourishing vitamins and oils. Yes you heard it right!!! "AROMATHERAPY"- use of essential oils from plants for healing conditions like anxiety, stress and depression.

I have never come across something so wonderful. In love with all the variants. But I will be reviewing just the 2 scents I have in my goodie bag. (blame the human memory for forgetting the other smells)

Energy Boost
It surpasses the strength its name holds. To me, its energy blast! Wore it to college the next day and I was good all day. Even my late lunch of "dal-chawal" din't make me drowsy!! :D
Its strong peppermint aroma truly revitalises your senses and uplifts your mood.

Feel Sexy
A very woody yet sweet and floral smell that lingers all day. Passionate and sensuous, it lives up to its name ;)

I give it bonus points for its compact packaging (8ml), making it "wallet"-friendly. Priced at INR 100, I recommend it to everyone!

After a sumptuous lunch, Natasha Tuli, co-founder of Soulflower, demonstrated us how to make skin-friendly and delicious smelling strawberry and cream soap in barely half an hour! I swear I could eat that :D

'

Last but not the least, this is what I wore to the event - the theme being summer in shades of pink or purple

I thoroughly enjoyed my first official bloggers meet and would be really glad if you could give me feedback in form of comments below.

Indian Lace

Hello!

Sari is no doubt considered the most gracious drape in the world. But what do you think of the everyday Indian wear - Kurti? A one-piece Indian "dress" :D

Its the most comfortable everyday wear for Indians. But it need not be boring always! Prep it up with some statement pieces and you get results that leave you grinning and you looking stunning!

This was what I wore to college for an evening concert.

I dint want to take away all the attention from the electic blue kurti. But at the same time, I dint want myself to look like an ocean :D
So, I accessorized the look with this simple chunky neckpiece from tribal zone and this Arabian motif ring from Bangalore.

These pretty blue shoes are a gift from an old friend from Bangkok. As for the lace leggings, its from Splash!

Zari embroidery on the hem of the kurti.
( PS-I tailor-made this kurti with a blouse piece :D )

I used blue shadow on my upper lids and used black gel liner for a winged look from maybelline.

A hint of reddish-brown blush from lakme on my cheeks for that evening look.

And it was a beautiful windy evening!

So next time its a family function, you know how to turn heads ;)
Let me know what you think of this look.

Splash-ed!

Hello!
How many of you have been to the splash sale last weekend? Missed it? Well, they had some amazing stuff, and almost all on 50% sale! Unfortunately, I couldn't attend it :( as I had gone to the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival since it was the last day (post coming up soon!)
But I dint miss out on the Splash collection! Here are 2 ensemble I created for the Splash Fashion Show SS13, Dubai contest! All products used in the collage are from their new Spring Collection.

The first one is a smart corporate look with a touch of spikes and chains. A feminine blazer in neutral shade worn over a black and white striped bandeau blouse and pencil skirt,  tie inspired neckpiece and spiked ear clasp. Powerful image?

Pairing it with nude patent pumps (no, u don't get footwear in Splash!)

And hair tied up a loose low bun as seen here on Claire Danes

If boyfriend blazers were a rage, could their shirts be far behind?

The second ensemble is an evening look. Prints and gold. Subtle yet raging. Feminine yet powerful. Gold chest black shirt, spike danglers and mesh cufflink. The pants - a showstopper in itself :)

would love to pair them with these oxblood colored comfy shoes (very helpful if in a club you see :p )

With hair tied in a fish tail and coral colored lips, and voila!

Everyone has their own style, but would still love to hear from you about how you like the ensembles.
